Rome : Architectural Musings Image 56 Previous Photo Next Photo Back to Photo Index Page
In a small town close to the Ostia Antica ruins I found an interesting gatehouse entrance. On the inside wall was a high roman brick archway and the outside entrance had a very old set of wooden support beams. The wall looked like it had changed over the years and on the other side was a cool looking small window. The walls were made from large Roman bricks and the corners had huge round stones to stop them being damaged.
