Rome : Architectural Musings Image 28 Previous Photo Next Photo Back to Photo Index Page
The Roman back street layouts are made up from curved lines, jutting out corner angles and bursts of greenery trying to reclaim the city again. I love the high up balconies wrapped around the buildings and the open cobble street areas branching off into narrow alleyways with archways at the end. The buildings are often tall, the alleyways are narrow and every now and then you can catch a glimpse of a shortcut past someones backdoor with a lazy cat napping.
